2013 Decorative Concrete Award Winners
The winners of Scofield’s 6th annual awards contest have been announcedEach year, this contest is open to any contractor, architect or designer who uses or specifies Scofield Systems. Projects are judged on skill of installation, creativity, artistic expression, and integration with the overall design intent. This year the judges, John Strieder, Editor of Concrete Decor magazine and Rebecca Wasieleski, (former) Editor of CONCRETE CONTRACTOR magazine, selected six grand prize winners from 51 entries.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER - Artistic Concrete Category: Duncan Residence
After both new and existing concrete in this backyard had been acid stained, artistic designs were hand-painted using acrylic paints. A solvent-based clear seal was used to protect the designs.

GRAND PRIZE WINNER - Colored/Stained Concrete Category: SMECO
Multiple colors of stain were used on this 7,500+ square foot concrete floor. The colors are separated with sawcut curves.

Nearly 36,000 square feet of pavement in this historic downtown area was given a modernized hardscape with the look of time-worn streets.
